Advantage Technical Consulting has developed an Asset Management Performance Assessment Tool (AMPAT) to provide a comprehensive view of the status of a company's asset management. The tool compares performance against a mixture of world class business processes, benchmark performance measures and the requirements of PAS55.
Do your asset management processes: |
Collect, analyse and use maintenance data to continually improve asset performance? |
Differentiate between planning and scheduling? |
Create an involvement for maintenance in capital projects? |
Enable you to make most effective use of internal and external labour resources? |
Drive your decision making with respect to spares optimisation, holding strategy, etc?
If you cannot answer these questions there is a high probability that you do not have effective control of your asset management processes. Advantage Technical Consulting has an innovative but proven methodology and tool kit that will assess effectively the current performance of your asset management processes. It is a comprehensive assessment tool that examines over 500 inter-related aspects of asset management and compares your current performance with best practice.
AMPAT is based on a rigorous assessment of eight integrated processes of asset management: |
Equipment availability, reliability and maintainability |
Planning and scheduling |
Maintenance management |
Materials management |
Contracted services |
Information systems |
Skills assessment and development |
Asset delivery and life cycle planning
An assessment conducted using AMPAT will identify under-performing processes, accountabilities and practices within your asset management approach, identifying how you could reduce OPEX, increase CAPEX benefits and focus effort for maximum return. |

Overview |

Advantage Technical Consulting has developed an Asset Management Performance Assessment Tool (AMPAT) to provide a comprehensive view of the status of a company's asset management. The tool compares performance against a mixture of world class business processes and benchmark performance measures.
The tool is applied by the client's asset management practitioners, facilitated by a consultant experienced in the application of asset management improvement programmes. The assessment is backed up by site tours, discussions with operations, engineering, procurement and maintenance staff and a review of existing data. It can be applied to any industrial manufacturing/process where the management of assets can have an effect on operational efficiency and, hence, profitability.
The immediate output of the assessment is the aggregate and individual element performance charts drawn by AMPAT coupled with ownership, by the asset management practitioners, of the need to improve. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg as there is a wealth of information and data collected during the assessment that can be interpreted by the consultant to provide a complete picture of your approach to asset management. This information can be used to define the strengths of the current set-up, the opportunities for improvement along with a prioritised plan to close the gap on best practice performance. |
